Our Mission:

The Alpena D.A.R.E. Program seeks to provide support towards the education of our community’s school children. The mission is to assist and support the D.A.R.E. officers and provide them with materials essential to teach youth abstinence from substance abuse and violence and how to improve their ability to make healthy life choices.

BOARD MEMBERS HONORED FOR THEIR SERVICE

 

 

Undersheriff Terry King present plaques to Jerome Smigelski and Carol Shafto.  Officer Tim presents a plaque to Kim Miller.  Mayor Shafto served on the Alpena DARE Advisory Board for a combined total of 12 years while Mr. Smigelski and retired APD Chief Kim Miller each served 20 years respectively.  Thank you to these fine folks for the commitment they have made to our area's youth!
