Our Mission:

The Alpena D.A.R.E. Program seeks to provide support towards the education of our community’s school children. The mission is to assist and support the D.A.R.E. officers and provide them with materials essential to teach youth abstinence from substance abuse and violence and how to improve their ability to make healthy life choices.

2009-2010 school year:

Help us celebrate the Alpena D.A.R.E. Program's 20th Anniversary (1989-2009) during this 2009/2010 school year by wearing your D.A.R.E. shirts with pride and/or a combination of red, black and white! We have been a proud partner of Alpena's schools and parents for the last 20 years and are ready to provide this program for many years to come. Thanks to all for your support!

CONGRATULATIONS ROLE MODELS!

The Alpena D.A.R.E. Program has chosen it’s Alpena High School "D.A.R.E. high school role models" for the 2009/2010 school year, the same year that Alpena D.A.R.E. celebrates it’s 20^th anniversary. A total of 12 role models were chosen out of 50 applicants. The role models will assist and support the D.A.R.E. officers with several community functions during the entire school year.

From the Officer's Desk:

We would like to congratulate Officer Jim for being nominated for the State of Michigan "D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year". Officer Jim is seen below at the D.O.A.M. (Dare Officer's Association of Michigan) conference in Mt. Pleasant on 8-28-09 with DOAM President, Ivette Brown of the Auburn Hills Police Department. Way to go Officer Jim!
